Smoothie King, Germantown MD

In the world of quick-service restaurants, creating an inviting and efficient space is paramount. When Smoothie King needed a new location to serve up fresh, nutritious smoothies to their loyal customers, Area Construction Group stepped up to deliver a stunning and functional build-out. The transformation of this space reflects both the brand’s mission and the construction company’s commitment to quality and attention to detail.

The first step in the process was clearing the space and ensuring the infrastructure was up to code. The team worked seamlessly with the architects to bring the vision to life, installing custom cabinetry, specialized equipment for food prep, and bright, inviting signage. The kitchen area was outfitted with state-of-the-art machinery to ensure efficiency in delivering fresh, high-quality smoothies every time.

Despite tight deadlines and unforeseen logistical challenges, the team at Area Construction Group was able to overcome these hurdles through careful planning and communication. A particularly challenging aspect was sourcing the necessary equipment for the kitchen within a short timeframe, but the team worked with suppliers to expedite the process.

In keeping with the brand’s commitment to health and sustainability, the team chose energy-efficient lighting and eco-friendly materials wherever possible. The use of low-VOC paints and sustainably sourced wood created a healthy environment for both employees and customers.

The finished store offers a bright and welcoming environment, with smooth lines and an open layout that allows for quick service. The bold colors of Smoothie King’s branding are prominently featured throughout the store, while the efficient kitchen layout ensures that smoothies are prepared quickly without compromising quality. Customers can relax in the modern seating area or grab their smoothies on the go.

The Good Feet Store, Rockville MD

Here, one of our repeat clients tasked us to with the complete build-out of their new location for The Good Feet Store, a retailer known for its foot health solutions. From the initial layout to the final finishing touches, the construction team worked to design a space that was both inviting and practical, enhancing the customer experience and supporting the brand’s mission.

The design focused on creating an open, spacious floor plan that would allow customers to browse and engage with the products easily. With various foot care solutions, such as insoles and orthotic products, the layout included designated areas for consultations, product displays, and test fittings.

Lighting played a critical role in the build-out, as it was essential to both showcase the store’s products and create an inviting atmosphere. The construction company installed modern, energy-efficient LED lighting to ensure that the store’s products were brightly illuminated and easily visible from every angle.

The choice of flooring was particularly important for The Good Feet Store, given its focus on foot health. The construction team carefully selected high-quality, durable flooring materials that would withstand foot traffic while still providing a comfortable feel underfoot. The flooring was chosen not only for its durability but also for its sleek, modern appearance that complemented the store’s overall design.

A major part of the build-out was the installation of a new entrance and prominent signage that would make the store easy to find and enticing to customers. The entrance was designed to be open and welcoming, drawing people in with a visually striking display of the store’s branding.

Dr. Rebecca Resnik’s Office, North Bethesda MD

We were approached by Dr. Resnik when she wanted to create a more welcoming, professional, and soothing environment for her clients. We were able to help her accomplish this by focusing on subtle yet impactful design improvements.

The renovation included a range of upgrades, from installing corner moldings to replacing windows and doors, all designed to enhance both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the office.

To further elevate the office’s atmosphere, wainscoting was added to the lower portions of the walls. This classic feature not only contributes to the visual appeal but also provides a tactile element that helps in sound dampening, creating a more serene and private space.

Chair rails were installed along the walls to protect the wainscoting and lower portions of the walls from scuff marks caused by chairs or other furniture. The chair rail also serves a dual purpose as a design element, providing a clean, horizontal line that visually divides the room, enhancing the overall layout.

To complete the look, new trim was installed along the baseboards, windows, and doors. The trim adds a finished, polished appearance to the space, reinforcing the sophisticated design that reflects the office’s professional and calming environment.
